Glen Rock is a community largely made up of classic colonial, cape cod, tudor and ranch style homes on quiet tree lined streets and is only 18 miles from Manhattan.
Glen Rock was incorporated in 1894 when its residents seceded from Ridgewood due to the long walk to school. They named their new community after the 540 ton boulder believed to have been deposited from a glacier that still today is a landmark at the northern end of Rock Road which is Glen Rocks downtown shopping area.

There is a great sense of community here and is a big draw for residents who commute to Manhattan as it has not one but two train lines on either end of town. There are approximately 1000 commuters who travel to Manhattan daily.
